The United States of Autism: davanport

One of Our Families Receives Autism Award

Sharon daVanport, one of the individuals in our film, received an award from the Learning School in NYC at their 10th anniversary annual benefit. She was one of four recipients of the Spectrum Award, and the other winners included Fred Volkmar, MD from Yale University, Janice Murray, and PBS’s Charlie Rose.

It was a wonderful evening at the Ritz Carlton on Battery Park, with plenty of silent auction items, great conversations, and many of the ladies of the Autism Women’s Network such as Dawnita Mohler, Savannah Logsdon-Breakstone, Carol Greenburg, and Sharon’s daughter Kylee. Also in attendance was Executive Producer and Director of the film Richard Everts.

Congratulations to Sharon for her continuing work on behalf of women on the spectrum, and we look forward to many more wonderful stories and awards.
